About Me

I’m a proud lifelong resident of Moose Jaw, deeply connected to the city’s rich history, beauty, and untapped potential. Raised on a farm and having raised my own family here, I understand the value of community and the neighborly spirit that defines us. This shared spirit has shaped my vision for a thriving, inclusive city.

With over 35 years of experience in personal development and mental health, I’ve devoted my career to empowering individuals and helping them succeed. My qualifications in Psychiatric Nursing, Continuing Care, Life and Wellness Coaching, Mediation, Conflict Resolution, and Palliative Care have equipped me to serve people from all walks of life. I’ve also contributed to numerous community boards, with my work recognized at both provincial and federal levels.

Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to learn from mentors who taught me the importance of seeing life through diverse perspectives. I began my journey at places like Valley View Centre and the old Providence Hospital, which remain close to my heart. Through my business, Personal Choices, I developed programs for people of all ages and needs. I’ve also held leadership roles, including Executive Director of the Angus Campbell Centre and Vice President of Community Health at Prodrome Health. Today, I serve as the CEO of Lakeview Regional Wellness Centre and co-founder of Dr. Goodenowes Restorative Health Centre.

Empowering others has always been my passion. I’ve consistently worked to create services that inspire confidence and growth in individuals. Family means everything to me, and I’m grateful to have raised mine in Moose Jaw while building businesses that support the community I love. As I approach retirement, I remain committed to helping others achieve their dreams and creating a bright future for everyone in Moose Jaw.

Who Am I?

I’m a dedicated community advocate with a strong sense of civic duty, running for City Council to make Moose Jaw a safer, more prosperous, and welcoming place for all. As I transition toward retirement, I’m eager to give back to the city that shaped me by creating opportunities for businesses and addressing the social issues that affect our residents.

My Campaign Message

My campaign is about revitalizing Moose Jaw with bold, innovative strategies that both attract and retain businesses while ensuring a safe and supportive environment for everyone. I’m committed to empowering local entrepreneurs, streamlining regulations, improving infrastructure, and collaborating with our talented community to address critical issues like homelessness, addiction, and safety. I believe Moose Jaw can thrive by harnessing local talent and providing everyone with the resources they need to succeed.

My Vision for Moose Jaw

To truly enhance the quality of life in Moose Jaw, we must focus on creating a safe and vibrant community that serves all residents and their families.

Our city has many talented, compassionate people and organizations with the knowledge and resources to address homelessness, addiction, and mental health issues holistically. By supporting their efforts, we can ensure access to affordable, safe housing, treatment, education, and job opportunities. This will allow people to manage their needs with dignity in environments that provide 24/7 care and support. We don’t need more meetings to discuss these problems—it’s time to take action and provide the safety and security that all individuals and businesses deserve.

Building a healthy community also means improving our recreational facilities. Upgrades to ball diamonds, soccer fields, playgrounds, outdoor skating rinks, and paddling pools will ensure everyone has access to quality spaces for physical activity, giving families more options for enjoying Moose Jaw’s amenities.

Investing in our tourism and cultural infrastructure is just as important. By enhancing the Tourist Centre, Cultural Centre, Museum, Library, and Art Gallery, we can boost Moose Jaw’s appeal and foster a greater sense of pride in our city. I’m especially passionate about revitalizing Crescent Park, the Natatorium, and utilizing our natural hot springs—creating unique experiences for both residents and visitors. I will also advocate for the restoration of funding to the Wakamow Valley Authority, ensuring this vital natural space continues to be a cornerstone of our community for generations to come.

Why Vote for Me?

Vote for me because I bring a clear, actionable vision for Moose Jaw’s future. I’m dedicated to making Moose Jaw a business-friendly city that supports entrepreneurs and provides a safe, welcoming environment for families, seniors, and youth. I’m ready to collaborate with the community to bring fresh ideas, tackle challenges head-on, and foster sustainable growth. I will ensure that the city and government step up where it has fallen short, providing the resources and support our citizens deserve.

About Me

Hello, I’m Jeff Goodnough, a proud third-generation Moose Javian. I’m running for City Council because I believe in a better, stronger future for Moose Jaw—a future where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

For over 30 years, my wife Beth and I have called Moose Jaw home, raising our family and building a life in this great community. As a local business owner, I founded Coffee Encounters in 2000 and worked hard to create a unique experience for our downtown core. I know firsthand what it takes to support local business and drive economic growth in Moose Jaw. I’m aware of the challenges local businesses face, and I’m committed to creating more opportunities for entrepreneurs to grow and succeed here. But my commitment to this city goes beyond business.

A safer Moose Jaw is essential to our growth, and I will work hard to ensure our neighborhoods are secure and our crime prevention efforts are strengthened. Healthcare and mental health support are also critical for our community’s well-being. We need better access to quality care, and I’ll advocate for improvements to ensure Moose Jaw residents get the support they need, when they need it.

I believe in creating opportunities for everyone—whether it’s young people starting out or the seniors who have helped build this community. I’m committed to ensuring that our youth can thrive and that our seniors live with dignity and the care they deserve. At the same time, we must tackle the housing issue so everyone in Moose Jaw has a place to call home and the chance to improve their lives.

Moose Jaw has incredible potential, and I want to see us become a city that not only survives but thrives—a city that’s safe, vibrant, and welcoming to all. My platform is built on making Moose Jaw friendlier, stronger, and full of opportunities for every resident. We want to make winners out of Moose Jaw by fostering a place where young entrepreneurs can thrive, families feel supported, seniors live well, and the underprivileged have opportunities.

This election is about more than just promises—it’s about making sure your vote counts. I want you to know that your voice matters. If you give me the chance, I will work relentlessly to make sure Moose Jaw moves forward in a way that benefits everyone. Let’s work together to create a safer, stronger, and more vibrant community—a Moose Jaw we can all be proud of.

I’m asking for your vote because I care, and together, we can make Moose Jaw a winning city.

Thank you.

Moose Jaw Revitalization

Why have we decided to run as a team?

Moose Jaw is a beautiful city with tremendous potential. However chronic mismanagement and impotence by previous and current city counsel administrations has resulted in a proliferation of issues that threaten the very fabric of our community.

Molehills have become mountains. We have compiled a summary of the key issues facing Moose Jaw. It is shocking and unacceptable.

It is time for people who know how to get things done to step up and use these skills for the betterment of our city. Just like a good old-fashioned barn raising - it is a job too big for any one person alone. Each of us know how to bring people together, how to build teams, how to build consensus, and how to execute.

Restoring and Revitalizing Moose Jaw will require full community engagement and participation. We are all committed to getting out into the Moose Jaw community – not to just ask your opinion on how someone else can fix our city, but engaging and organizing the people and businesses of Moose Jaw to be directly involved in Moose Jaw’s revitalization.
